The Miami Swim Week Designer Application: A Preparation Checklist for Brands
The official designer registration is short, but it asks for material most brands do not have sitting in a folder. Here is what to write, count, and export before opening the form.
Most brands open the Miami Swim Week designer application expecting a contact form and find a brand submission instead. The official registration for Miami Swim Week®: The Shows asks a house to choose an event, describe itself, account for a specific collection, and attach a lookbook. None of that is difficult. It is simply hard to improvise in one sitting, which is why so many submissions stall halfway through.
Everything below comes from the live form. Gathering it first turns the registration into a twenty-minute task instead of a project.
Four sections, one submission
The Miami Swim Week designer application is organized into four blocks: brand information, primary contact, collection details, and collection deck with agreement. A required event dropdown is the first field in the brand information section. Required fields have to be complete before the form will accept a submission. The official designer registration sits alongside the model, media, and sponsor forms on the applications hub, and each one routes to a different team.
Brand identity: two biographies, not one
The first section covers the house. Brand or company name, designer name, country, website, and Instagram are all required. TikTok and Facebook are optional, so a label without an active presence on either is not penalized for leaving them blank.
The part that catches people out is that the form asks for two separate pieces of writing. A brand biography of 100 to 250 words, and a designer biography with no stated limit. They are not interchangeable. One is the house, its point of view, and where the work sits in swim and resort fashion. The other is the person behind it, their training, and their track record.
Contact details go to the production team
The second section is short and entirely required: primary contact, mobile phone, email, and business address. The form is explicit that all of it is mandatory so the production team can follow up quickly. A shared inbox that nobody watches during a build week is the wrong address to use here.
The collection has to be real and countable
The third section is where a Miami Swim Week designer application separates a finished body of work from an intention. It asks for the collection by name, the season it belongs to, and the number of looks, which accepts a figure from 1 to 100.
- Collection name and season, written the way the industry writes it: Resort 2027, Spring/Summer 2027
- Number of looks, entered as a figure between 1 and 100
- At least one collection category from Women’s, Men’s, Resort, Swimwear, Accessories, Kids, and Couture
- A written statement of the inspiration behind the collection, which is required
- A sustainability statement, which is optional and can be left blank
Multiple categories can be selected at once, which matters for houses that show swim alongside resort ready-to-wear or accessories. The inspiration field is the one place in the form where a brand explains why the collection looks the way it does, so it is worth more than a sentence.
Choosing an event and preparing the deck
The required dropdown at the start of the first section lists Lincoln Road Fashion Show on December 2, 2026; NYFW Shows on February 10, 2027; and Miami Swim Week® - The Shows on June 1–6, 2027. Choose one event per application. A brand applying to more than one event submits a separate application for each. The final section collects the deck and agreement for the selected event.
A collection deck or lookbook is a required upload. The form accepts PDF, PPT, and PPTX files up to 100 MB, which is generous enough for a full image-led deck but not for an uncompressed export. Brands that have not shown before can look through the designer archive to see how collections are presented once a season is on record.
Accuracy agreement and electronic signature
The registration closes with a confirmation that the information and the attached collection materials are accurate and current, followed by a typed full legal name that acts as the electronic signature. Both are required. Attaching a deck from a season that has moved on is exactly the kind of detail that agreement is asking about.
Step by step
- 01
Write the brand biography
Draft 100 to 250 words covering the house, its point of view, and where the work sits in swim and resort fashion. Check the word count before pasting it into the form.
- 02
Write the designer biography
Cover the person behind the label: training, background, and previous runway or retail history. This is a separate required field from the brand biography.
- 03
Fix the collection details
Settle on the collection name, the season, and the exact number of looks. Decide which of the seven collection categories apply, and write the inspiration statement.
- 04
Export the lookbook
Produce the collection deck as a PDF, PPT, or PPTX file under 100 MB. Compress image-heavy pages rather than cutting looks to hit the limit.
- 05
Gather brand and contact fields
Have the company name, designer name, country, website, Instagram handle, primary contact, mobile phone, email, and business address ready in one place.
- 06
Choose an event and sign
Open the official designer registration and choose one event from the required dropdown at the start of the first section. Complete the brand and collection details, upload the deck, confirm the accuracy agreement, and type a full legal name as the electronic signature. Submit a separate application for each additional event.
What the registration leads to
Submitted material goes to the official shows team for review, and a submission is not a guarantee of selection. Miami Swim Week®: The Shows is a trade and industry platform as much as a runway one, so a designer who is selected steps into a program that also carries buyer access, press coverage, and industry panel programming across Miami Beach. The runway program is headquartered at Mondrian South Beach.
Ready to register
A Miami Swim Week designer application rewards a house that has its story, its numbers, and its deck in order. Two biographies, a countable collection, one export, and a signature. Preparation is the whole difference between a submission that reads as finished and one that reads as a placeholder.
