Miami Swim Week Model Casting: What the Official Application Asks For
The official casting application asks for current measurements, unedited digitals, a swimwear photo, and a short runway walk video. Here is what each of the six sections collects, and what the photo and video rules actually require.
Miami Swim Week model casting runs through a single official application, and the materials it asks for are specific. The casting team for Miami Swim Week®: The Shows reviews measurements, current digitals, and a runway walk video before deciding who moves forward. Models who read the requirements before they start tend to submit cleaner files, and they avoid the rework that comes from filtered photos, outdated measurements, or a walk video shot the wrong way.
How the official application is structured
The form is organized into six sections: personal information, physical measurements, professional profile, social and portfolio links, casting media, and show selection with agreements. Each required field has to be complete before the form will submit, so it is faster to gather files first and fill the form once. The official model casting application is the route the casting team reviews, and it sits alongside the designer, sponsor, and media forms on the applications hub.
Who can apply
Miami Swim Week model casting is open to models with and without agency representation. The professional profile section lists agency and agency-contact as optional fields, which means unsigned and freelance models are reviewed on the same form as represented talent. Applicants 18 and older are preferred. Anyone under 18 must include a parent or guardian: the form collects guardian name, email, and phone, and adds a separate guardian consent before the application can be signed.
- Full name, email address, mobile phone, and city, state, and country of residence
- Date of birth, with parent or guardian details required for applicants under 18
- Instagram and TikTok profiles, which are both required fields
- A portfolio website, which is optional
Measurements and fit profile
Measurements drive fittings, so the form asks for the most recent numbers rather than approximations. Applicants first choose a female or male measurement profile, and that choice changes the fields that follow. Either imperial or metric units are accepted, so a model can enter a height as 5 ft 9 in or as 175 cm.
- Female profile: height, bust, waist, hips, and dress size
- Male profile: height, weight, chest, waist, inseam, suit size, shirt size, and neck size
- Both profiles: shoe size, hair color, and eye color
The professional profile section then asks for years of modeling experience along with runway, editorial, and commercial history. None of those three history fields can be left empty. Applicants with no editorial or commercial work are instructed to enter None rather than skip the field, which keeps the casting team from guessing at a blank.
Casting media, digitals, and the runway walk video
This is where most Miami Swim Week model casting submissions either succeed or stall. The form asks for recent, unedited images with no heavy filters. Natural light, a solid background, minimal makeup, and high-resolution JPG, PNG, or HEIC files are preferred, and each upload can be up to 100 MB.
- A natural headshot with hair pulled back and no sunglasses
- Full-length front, side, and back photos
- A swimwear photo
- A comp card, which is optional and may be a JPG, PNG, HEIC, or PDF
- A runway walk video in MP4 or MOV format
Selecting the shows
The final section asks applicants to select every show they want to be considered for, and at least one selection is required. Two programs are listed: Miami Swim Week®: The Shows and NYFW SS27 on September 11, 2026. Dates for the next Miami edition are to be announced, while the New York program already has its date fixed. Selecting both keeps a model in consideration across the wider calendar rather than a single window.
Agreements and the electronic signature
Three agreements close the application, plus a fourth for applicants under 18. They are worth reading rather than clicking past, because they set the expectations a selected model is agreeing to in advance.
- Confirmation that all information is accurate and that submitted photos and videos are current
- Authorization for Miami Swim Week®: The Shows to review the materials for casting purposes, with the explicit note that submission does not guarantee selection
- Agreement to attend required fittings, rehearsals, and assigned runway shows if selected
- Parent or guardian consent for applicants under 18
A typed full legal name closes the form and acts as the electronic signature.
Step by step
- 01
Shoot fresh digitals
Take a natural headshot with hair pulled back and no sunglasses, plus full-length front, side, and back frames and one swimwear photo. Use natural light and a solid background, keep makeup minimal, and leave the files unedited.
- 02
Record the runway walk
Film a walk toward and away from the camera with one turn or pivot, running roughly 20 to 30 seconds. Export the clip as MP4 or MOV and keep the file under 100 MB.
- 03
Take current measurements
Measure again for the female or male fit profile, and include shoe size, hair color, and eye color. Imperial and metric units are both accepted.
- 04
Write the experience summary
List runway, editorial, and commercial work with shows, designers, cities, and dates. Enter None in any category that does not apply rather than leaving the field empty.
- 05
Gather links and agency details
Have Instagram and TikTok handles or profile URLs ready, plus a portfolio website if one exists. Agency name and agency contact are optional fields.
- 06
Submit and sign
Open the official model casting application, complete all six sections, select at least one show, accept the agreements, and type a full legal name as the electronic signature.
What happens after a submission
Materials go to the Miami Swim Week® casting team for review, and the application is clear that selection is not guaranteed. Models who are selected have already agreed to attend fittings, rehearsals, and their assigned runway shows, so the commitment begins well before show day. The official program is headquartered at Mondrian South Beach, with partner events and industry programming across Miami Beach.
Ready to submit
Miami Swim Week model casting rewards preparation more than polish. Current measurements, unedited digitals, and a walk video that follows the brief give the casting team what it needs to make a decision, and they take an afternoon to put together. Everything is submitted through the official form.
